Broad Street Cafe Image

We're delighted to unveil our brand new Boswells Broad Street Cafe! Ta-daaaa!

Drop by to discover a fantastic range of hot and cold drinks, cakes and snacks, all of which are available to eat in or take away.

So, enjoy a coffee on the go, grab some cake to guzzle at your desk, or simply stop by for a cheeky ice cream on a sunny day. Our new cafe is ideal for take-away treats, meaning you can now enjoy Boswells great food and drink absolutely anywhere you like.

The cafe also features a small amount of seating, so you can enjoy a bite to eat right here in store, and for those looking for a more leisurely meal, our 1738 Tea Room will still be providing it's usual, excellent table service on the 1st floor of the store.

We are using Vegware takeaway cups and boxes, which are all made from low-carbon, renewable, plant based PLA, rather than plastic, meaning that they're all nice and environmentally friendly!

Broad Street Cafe ImageAnd if all of that isn't exciting enough, you can also save for a free hot drink with one of our handy loyalty cards! In order to get your free drink, simply ask a member of staff to stamp your loyalty card every time you purchase a hot drink, and get the 7th one on the house! The cards can be used in both 1738 Tea Room and Boswells Broad Street Cafe, it really is as simple as that

We are currently in the process of trialling the opening times for the cafe, please see our Opening Times page for more information on when Boswells Broad Street Cafe will be open.

FAQs

Where is Boswells Broad Street Cafe?

Located on Broad Street, the cafe sits in the area that was previously our Tourist and Souvenir section, on the ground floor of the store. The cafe can be accessed from it's own separate door on Broad Street, or through the store, tucked just behind our Gifts Department (turn left at the Gifts Department till, and then left again). Don't worry, we will still keeping our full range of souvenirs, these have simply found a new home with the rest of our giftware on the ground floor!

What can I buy from the Boswells Broad Street Cafe?

The Broad Street Cafe will be serving a variety of delicious Peros Fairtrade coffees, a selection of Tea Pigs loose leaf teas, as well as a choice of cold, soft drinks. A daily selection of gluten free cakes are available, including Victoria Sponge, Carrot Cake, Raspberry and Orange, Apple and Caramel and New York Cheese Cakes.

Speciality cakes by Loaf are also available, including Lemon and Ginger and Banana Loaf, however please note that these are not gluten free. A choice of pastries, crisps, flapjacks and ice creams are also on sale in the cafe.

What is the difference between the Broad Street Cafe and Boswells 1738 Tea Room?

While our 1738 Tea Room is the ideal spot to sit down to a relaxing lunch and a natter, if you fancy making a quicker pitstop for our lovely refreshments, Boswells Broad Street Cafe is at your service! The cafe will serve a range of hot and cold drinks as well as cakes and snacks that can be taken away, to be enjoyed at your leisure. The cafe also features seating for up to 6, so you can also stop by for a coffee and cake in store too

For table service, and a longer stop in store, we recommend our 1738 Tea Room, located on the 1st floor of Boswells, where we serve a range of delicious breakfast and lunch options, along with a mouth watering selection of cakes, and afternoon tea for 2.

How will you help customers with allergies, intolerances or other dietary requirements?

For drinks, we will have decaffinated versions of tea and coffee as well as wider choices of soft drinks. There is also a milk alternative available. Our range of cakes includes gluten free options too. We always recommend speaking to staff to check any specific ingredient that you need to avoid.
