Schleich - Mini Shetty Foal, Figurine
Schleich - Mini Shetty Foal, Figurine
With mini Shetland ponies, it is usually love at first sight. They are extremely gentle, good-natured and very intelligent. At the same time they are also a little bit cheeky and like to get their will. But that is exactly what makes the Mini Shetty so adorable. Although they are very small, they are extremely strong and can carry or pull heavy. It used to be used as a pit pony in mines once. Today, they are especially ideal for children or for pulling carriages.

Schleich - Standing Piglet, Figurine
Schleich - Standing Piglet, Figurine
Pigs are very social animals and care lovingly for their litter. If they can be born outside, the pregnant mother pig digs a homely hollow and fills it with soft branches, grass and leaves before she gives birth to her litter. In it, the litte ones are born and after a few minutes they start looking for the teat to slurp tasty breast milk. Their mother even sings them while they suckle on her. At least it sounds like it in the ears of the piglets. It consists of grunts at different pitches and intervals.

Schleich - Dilophosaurus Figurine
Schleich - Dilophosaurus Figurine
After the Compsognathus and the Velociraptor, the Dilophosaurus was one of the fastest prehistoric saurians. Despite its six metre-long body, it weighed only 500 kg and had long, powerful hind legs, with which it could easily reach speeds of up to 38 km/h. It had two striking bone crests on its skull, which also led to it being called the "Double Crested Lizard". They were indeed big and long, but too thin to defend itself with. Scientists believe that they were used to impress rivals. Schleich figurines are made from high quality, softened plastic, meaning they're pleasant to touch, and not too hard. This 14.1cm figurine is high detailed and features a moving lower jaw

Brachiosaurus Schleich Figurine
Brachiosaurus Schleich Figurine
Brachiosaurus is an essential part of any dinosaur lovers collection, and you couldn't do better than this highly realistic, hand painted Schleich model! Brachiosaurus translated means “arm lizard”. It acquired the name, because its front legs were significantly longer than its hind legs. As such, its long neck pointed automatically upwards and it could eat taller plants with less effort.

Killer Whale, Schleich Figure
Killer Whale, Schleich Figure
Orcas are adaptable, social animals that are native to almost all the oceans. Their food depends on their respective environment. Orcas prefer pinnipeds, walruses, sea lions and even other whales. Their family groups rank among the strongest in the animal kingdom. At the time they are born, the calves are coloured yellowish or orange, but in the course of time their skin turns white. Grown orcas have a length of up to eight metres and weigh about nine tons. Males and females can be distinguished by their dorsal fins. Males have triangular fins with a length of more than 1.5 meters, while the fins of the females are roughly half the size and often bent. Both male and female orcas are able to reach up to fifty years of age.
In case of the sea animals, a design to scale was discontinued in favour of figurines sized for better shelf space efficiency and consumer play handling. As with all Schleich figurines they continue to be modeled in realistic detail and beautifully painted.

Polar Bear Cub, Walking, Schleich Figure
Polar Bear Cub, Walking, Schleich Figure
The polar and grizzly bears are the largest animal predators on Earth. Weighing more than 500 kilos with a length of almost 3 meters, this bear is double the size of a Siberian tiger. Polar bears have a thick layer of fat in order to be able to defy the extreme Arctic cold. They also have an undercoat and a layer of transparent protective hair. As a result they can swim and hunt in very low temperatures. Polar bears are very good swimmers and have even been seen 300 kilometers from the coast. When searching for food the polar bear has the benefit of a highly sensitive sense of smell. They can perceive a smell that is one and a half kilometers away or buried one metre under the snow! Their hearing and sight are comparable to that of a human. Polar bears are loners, but they have no fixed territory and enjoy playing with each other. The mating season is in May and during gestation the female polar bear almost triples her weight.
The polar bear cub, which has been remodeled in the course of the product update, complements the polar bear family.

Tyrannosaurus Rex, Schleich Figure
Tyrannosaurus Rex, Schleich Figure
Although the Tyrannosaurus Rex looked quite threatening, it could hardly use its front legs armed with just two claws since they did not even reach his mouth. Nearly seven metres tall and thirteen metres long, the Tyrannosaurus Rex was probably not a very skilled hunter, but rather a scavenger which probably fed on the leavings of other animals. It had more than fifty teeth measuring more than 15 centimetres in length which it used not for chewing but rather for tearing, since it swallowed its food in large chunks. To improve depth-perception when searching for food, the eyes of the Tyrannosaurus Rex were oriented toward the front such that the fields of vision of both eyes overlapped.
If this powerful predatory dinosaur lost one of its dagger-like teeth, a new one would grow back within a matter of weeks.

Polar Bear, Schleich Figure
Polar Bear, Schleich Figure
Together with the grizzly bear, the polar bear is the largest land-dwelling predatory animal on earth. Weighing in at more than 500 kg and measuring almost 3 m in length, this bear is twice as large as a Siberian tiger. In order to withstand the extreme Arctic cold, polar bears have a thick layer of fat. They also have an undercoat and a layer of transparent protective fur. This allows them to hunt and swim in very low temperatures. Polar bears are very good swimmers and have been sighted as far as 300 km from the coast. They need a highly sensitive sense of smell when hunting for food and can smell things located 1.5 metres away or buried under a layer of ice one metre thick! Their hearing and vision are comparable with those of a human being. Polar bears are solitary animals but do not have defined territories and enjoy playing with each other. Mating takes place in May and during gestation, the female polar bear nearly triples in weight.
Polar bears are perfectly adapted to life in the eternal ice of the Arctic. They can even swim for long distances in ice cold water.

Panda Cub, Playing, Schleich Figure
Panda Cub, Playing, Schleich Figure
Panda bears start small. Extremely small. At birth they weigh just around 100 grams. That's as much as a bar of chocolate or a small yogurt. Apart from the Kangaroos, no other mammal gives birth to such small babies. After four weeks, the cubs have their typical black and white fur, after 6-8 weeks, they open their eyes for the first time. They remain with their mother for about two years and are very playful. Their mother likes to roll them back and forth gently and lovingly grapples around with them.

Lion, Roaring, Schleich Figure
Lion, Roaring, Schleich Figure
The larger the mane of a lion, the more frightening it is for intruders of its territory, which it defends. Lions are the only ones who hunt together in prides - although this task is usually left to the lionesses. Since they are not very fast, unlike the cheetah, they use their strength as a pride. They prowl from different directions, circle their prey and use the element of surprise. That way they can kill large ungulates such as wildebeest and zebras and even buffalos and weak elephants.

Schleich - Cheetah Cub, Figurine
Schleich - Cheetah Cub, Figurine
Baby cheetahs weigh just 300 grams when they are born. Their coat already has the typical black spots, and their face the unmistakable tear drop stripes. During their first months, baby cheetahs have a long, fluffy mane on the head and neck. Baby cheetahs are very helpless and only open their eyes after two weeks. When their mother is out hunting, they are completely defenceless against hungry lions and hyenas. The best possible camouflage is the only chance they have. A long, silver mane helps them here. It stands up like a mohican hairstyle and looks like long blades of grass from afar. Baby cheetahs learn to hunt for themselves when they are around six months old. After one or two years, the little ones are out of the woods and can fend for themselves. This figurine stands at 3.7cm tall and is made from high quality, softened plastic, making it pleasant to touch, and not too hard, making it easier and much more comfortable for children to hold and play with. Schleich - African Reed Frog, Figurine
Schleich - African Reed Frog, Figurine
African reed frogs are very small and colourfully patterned. They can climb really well and live in ponds or rivers at altitudes of up to 2,400 metres. They croak beautiful melodies at night. If African reed frogs lose a finger, they can let grow again. An African reed frog weighs two grams and is 15-30 millimetres tall. This makes it lighter than a 1 cent piece and not much taller than a 2 euro coin. It is a passionate singer with extraordinary talent. It is able to create sounds similar to that of a xylophone. But that is not its most exciting feature. It can simply grow back lost body parts again and transform from a male to a female (or vice versa) as and when needed. This figurine stands at 2.1cm tall and is made from high quality, softened plastic, making it pleasant to touch, and not too hard, making it easier and much more comfortable for children to hold and play with. Baby Alligator, Schleich Figure
Baby Alligator, Schleich Figure
Although alligators build a nest, they do not incubate their eggs themselves. They would break the eggshells with their extremely heavy weight. Instead, they collect plants that rot slowly. This does not sound very appetizing, but when the plants rot, they create warmth, thus hatching the eggs. If the temperature is less than 34 degrees, female alligators hatch, male alligators hatch if the temperature is more than 34 degrees. The young stay around their mother for up to two years and feed on small fish, frogs or insects until they are grown.

Both were very dangerous animals in any case.

Schleich - Clydesdale Foal, Figurine
Schleich - Clydesdale Foal, Figurine
Clydesdales are among the biggest horses in the world. When they are fully grown, their height is 160–180 cm. The only horses that are bigger are Shire Horses and Brabanters. Clydesdale foals are already almost a metre tall at birth. Clydesdales grow more slowly than other horse breeds. The foals aren’t fully grown until the age of seven or eight, instead of four or five. They then weigh over 1,000 kg – as much as a small car. They are so strong that they can pull objects that are much heavier than themselves. This also means they need a lot of food and water. Every day, they need 20–25 kg of grain with minerals and vitamins, and around 50–60 kg hay. Needless to say, this makes them thirsty – very thirsty, in fact. Clydesdales drink over 100 litres of water per day. This figure stands at 8.1cm tall and is made from high quality, softened plastic, making it pleasant to touch, and not too hard.

The Scarlet Macaw is known for its magnificent plumage that glows in bright colours. It is not only beautiful but it is also very noticeable. Its favourite foods include not only fruits but also Brazil nuts, of which it breaks the hard shell easily with its beak. You can often see Scarlet Macaws how they lick clay on riverbanks. The clay renders toxins in unripe fruit harmless and for the macaw it works as a home remedy for stomach aches.

The alligator is a dangerous predator with exceptionally strong jaw muscles. Only the white shark can bite harder than him. The interesting thing: Only the muscles that close the jaws are extremely strong. The muscles that open the snout are so weak that they can be closed with simple tape. Compared to the saltwater crocodile, alligators are smaller and much wider. They live only in rivers and lakes in the south-eastern part of the United States and China.

Schleich - Pinto Foal, Figurine
Schleich - Pinto Foal, Figurine
Pinto foals are born with their characteristic piebald coat. Over time, coloured patches can develop, but the white areas generally don’t change. While greys always have black skin, pintos always have pink skin beneath their white coat. Pintos are often confused with Paint Horses, because they look very similar. However, Paint Horses are a specific breed, while pintos are defined by the appearance of their coat. This means that, in principle, their beautiful coat patterns can appear in any breed. The horses are then referred to as, for example, Arab pintos or Tinker pintos. There are even Pintaloosas – a mix of pinto and Appaloosa. As a rule of thumb: if you don’t know the breed of a piebald horse, you can safely say it’s a pinto. That’s always correct. This figurine stands at 8.1cm tall and is made from high quality, softened plastic, making it pleasant to touch, and not too hard, making it easier and much more comfortable for children to hold and play with....

Schleich - Giraffe Female, Figurine
Schleich - Giraffe Female, Figurine
Why do giraffes have spots? It is hard to imagine that they would serve as camouflage for such large animals. But it is true: From afar, giraffes look like a big tree. A healthy, adult giraffe can kill a lion with a single, hefty kick. Despite the camouflage spots in their fur, giraffes do not always remain undetected by predators. But they know to defend themselves and can kick really hard with their front hooves. They mainly do this if they want to protect their young, because the adult animals are normally rarely attacked. Anyone who has the opportunity to look at giraffes from close up can easily distinguish the females from the males. They are somewhat smaller and have thin horns with a small tuft of fur on top. Giraffe bulls, in contrast, have thick horns with no fur on top. This figure stands at 17.2cm tall and is made from high quality, softened plastic, making it pleasant to touch, and easy on children's hands. This figure contains no moving parts.

Tiger Cub, Schleich Figure
Tiger Cub, Schleich Figure
The tiger's stripes are as varied and unique as fingerprints. Even the skin underneath is striped. At first glance, the striking pattern hardly seems to be beneficial. After all, the tiger does not want to be discovered by its prey immediately. When the tiger goes hunting in the twilight, it is however perfectly camouflaged with the stripes. They appear as tall grass moving in the wind or like fleeting shadows. Unlike many other "cats" and big cats the tiger swims well and likes it, too. Therefore, the water is not a safe place for many prey animals.

Schleich - Tennessee Walker Foal, Figurine
Schleich - Tennessee Walker Foal, Figurine
The hoofs of Tennessee Walkers have an extremely shallow angle. Most horses of this breed are “barefoot”, i.e. they do not wear horseshoes. Shoes would only get in the way of walking. Tennessee Walkers are famous for their extremely soft, smooth gaits. Tennessee Walkers are famous for their gaits, which are extremely pleasant for riders: the “walk”, the “running walk” and the “canter”. Even the foals instinctively know these gaits and love to show them off when they frolic around and play on the paddock. All Tennessee Walkers are descended from a black foal named Black Allen, born in 1886. Black Allen didn’t like to trot, but much preferred fast ambling gaits (“walk” and “running walk”). The breeders quickly learned the value of these new gaits. This figurine stands at 8.1cm tall and is made from high quality, softened plastic, making it pleasant to touch, and not too hard, making it easier and much more comfortable for children to hold and...

Hippopotamus, Schleich Figure
Hippopotamus, Schleich Figure
Although they are herbivores, hippopotamuses are considered as Africa’s wildest animals because of their aggressive nature. When they are out of the water, hippos are able to run up to 50 km per hour. They have an influence on the course of rivers and swamps by using the very same walking paths day after day and thus diverting the water into these furrows. Hippos spend daytime in the water and graze in the evening. Within only five hours, a hippo is able to devour more than 70 kg of food! In the water, the males are very keen on defending their territory; however, there is no rivalry once they are ashore. Although they cannot swim, hippos fight, sleep and mate in the water. They live in pods of approximately thirty individuals. With a length of more than five metres and weighing up to two tons, hippos rank among the largest land mammals. They can grow quite old – often up to forty years.
The modified hippopotamus is much more detailed and beautiful in its modeling.

Tiger Cub, White, Schleich Figure
Tiger Cub, White, Schleich Figure
White tigers are breathtakingly beautiful. They have a snow-white fur and strong, bright blue eyes. They differ from normal tigers because fur, skin and eyes cannot form red and yellow pigments. However, they are not albinos, for those always have red eyes. White tigers usually live in zoos because in the wild they would have little chance of survival. Because their fur is missing the camouflage, prey would discover them quickly and run away early enough.

Seal Cub, Schleich Figure
Harbour seals are a type of pinniped, native to all the temperate seas in the north. They are small and slender animals. The males can reach a length of 170 cm and weigh up to 100 kilograms and are thus considerably larger than the females. They live in the northern hemisphere both in the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean. Grown harbour seals solely feed on fish. They are clever and skilful swimmers. In some zoos, people can take a look at them doing their tricks in a seal show.
The seal and the seal cub form a small family.
